Press Release: QNAP introduced two 9-bay NAS servers this week TS-932X a TS-963X. While the TS-932X is powered by an ARM processor, the TS-963X features an AMD processor with a 2,0GHz core clock.

Model TS-932X

QNAP TS-932X is a budget-friendly NAS device with a quad-core processor. The novelty is ready for 10GbE and has space for five 3,5" hard drives and four 2,5" SSDs. The quad-core ARM processor supports Qtier technology, which automatically tiers files and data based on access frequency to ensure optimal storage performance. The compact design of the TS-932X means less desk space compared to other models in the same class, making this product ideal for small and medium-sized businesses. With two native 10GbE SFP+ ports, users also get a NAS device that is a guarantee for the needs of 10GbE network environments in the future.

"The TS-932X is a 9-bay NAS device that has the same physical size as a standard 4-bay/6-bay NAS device and offers a balance between storage capacity and performance," said Dan Lin, product manager of QNAP. "Coupled with advanced Qtier technology and 10GbE support, it offers a highly cost-effective private cloud solution," he added.

The TS-932X uses an Alpine AL-324 quad-core 1,7GHz Cortex-A57 processor from AnnapurnaLabs, an Amazon company, and has 2GB/8GB DDR4 RAM (expandable up to 16GB). The TS-932X supports SSD cache and Qtier to optimize performance and storage utilization. It offers two 10GbE SFP+ ports ensuring compatibility with high-speed networks for applications working with large volumes of data, fast backup and recovery, and virtualization. Efficient airflow and thermal design effectively dissipates heat, ensuring this NAS runs smoothly even under heavy loads.

The intelligent QTS NAS operating system simplifies NAS management with greater flexibility and efficiency. Block snapshots enable end-to-end data protection and instant recovery and are a modern way to effectively mitigate ransomware threats. As a comprehensive NAS solution for data storage, backup, sharing, synchronization and centralized management, the TS-932X represents an increase in productivity in everyday tasks. From the App Center, users can install various applications to expand NAS functions, such as Container Station for Docker® container applications or LXC, Qfiling for automated file organization, QmailAgent for centralizing email account management, and QVR Pro for creating a professional video surveillance system.

The TS-932X can be expanded to handle growing data by connecting up to two QNAP expansion units (UX-800P and UX-500P). Its unused capacity can also be used to expand the capacity of another QNAP NAS using VJBOD (Virtual JBOD).

Model TS-963X

QNAP TS-963X is a 9-bay NAS with a 2,0GHz quad-core AMD processor, up to 8GB of RAM (expandable to 16GB) and 10GBASE-T connectivity to support five speeds (10G/5G/2,5G/1G/100M). The compact model TS-963X is only as big as a five-bay NAS, but it has five 3,5″ HDD bays and four 2,5″ SSD bays to ensure high performance. Large-capacity storage potential includes automatic tiering of files/data based on access frequency (Qtier technology). The TS-963X is ideal for small businesses and organizations looking to improve data access efficiency, network transfer speeds and meet the demands of mission-critical workloads.

"The TS-963X is designed to improve the daily workflows of small businesses and organizations at an affordable price," commented Jason Hsu, product manager of QNAP. “The 10GBASE-T/NBASE-T™ port and four 2,5″ SSD bays can combine to significantly increase performance and ensure that the total cost of ownership remains reasonable and affordable for most businesses,” he added.

The TS-963X uses QTS, the operating system for QNAP NAS, which supports powerful storage management functions such as Snapshots, Virtual JBOD (VJBOD) and more. QTS also offers various applications to provide important functions and other value-added services, such as Hybrid Backup Sync for backup and synchronization of files using local, remote and cloud storage; QVR Pro can provide a professional surveillance solution; Virtualization Station and Linux Station allow users to host virtual machines using Windows, Linux or UNIX operating systems. Many other applications from QNAP and trusted partners are available for download from the QTS App Center. The TS-963X is also VMware, Citrix ready and Windows Server 2016 certified.
