The TS-x53D series is powered by a 4125GHz Intel® Celeron® J2,0 quad-core processor (up to 2,7GHz) and up to 4GB of DDR8 memory. The built-in dual 2,5GbE RJ45 ports can provide transfer rates up to 5Gbps within port aggregation. The PCIe 2.0 slot allows the installation of expansion cards to increase the functionality of the NAS (such as 5GbE/10GbE network card, network/storage card QM2 or wireless adapter QWA-AC2600. The NAS TS-x53D supports SSD cache for low-latency applications, or can become automatically optimized tiered storage with Qtier technology to achieve optimal performance with balanced storage utilization.

Designed for professionals, the TS-x53D series supports advanced data storage, sharing, backup, synchronization and protection, helping users to perform daily tasks productively. Block snapshots make data protection and recovery easier and effectively reduce ransomware threats. HBS (Hybrid Backup Sync) effectively implements backup tasks at the local/remote/cloud level and has technology QuDedup, which deduplicates backup files at the source, saving backup time, space, bandwidth, and accelerating multi-version backups for greater protection. The TS-x53D also has a lot of multimedia features with HDMI 2.0 output for displaying videos with resolutions up to 4K (4096 x 2160) at 60 Hz, high-quality 4K video transcoding for converting videos to universal file formats, and streaming videos via DLNA®, Plex® and Chromecast™.

The TS-x53D is a flexible and versatile device. Its storage capacity can be scaled by connecting QNAP storage expansion units or using the function VJBOD, which allows you to use the unused storage capacity of other QNAP NAS devices. The functionality of the TS-x53D can also be expanded by installing applications from the built-in QTS App Center, such as hosting more virtual machines and containers, introduction cloud storage gateway, implementation of professional camera surveillance system and more.
