Although Steve Jobs' words about the pointlessness of the stylus, which he said when introducing the first iPhone, were recalled not long after the presentation, it soon became clear that the Apple Pencil is a very useful accessory and, with its functions and processing, the best stylus that can be found on the market. Of course, it can't be denied that she still had her ups and downs. After three years, we received an improved version of the apple pencil, which eliminates these shortcomings. How exactly does the second generation differ from the original? We will focus on this in the following lines.
Design
At first glance, you can see the changed design compared to the original stylus. The new pencil is slightly smaller and has one flat side. The problem with the original Apple Pencil was that you couldn't simply place the pencil on a table without fear of it going off and ending up on the floor. This is addressed in the second generation. Another shortcoming from the point of view of some users was that the surface was too shiny, the new pencil therefore has a matte surface, which will make its use a little more pleasant.
No Lightning, better pairing
Another significant change in the new Apple Pencil is more convenient charging and pairing. The pencil no longer has a Ligtning connector, and therefore no cap, which was prone to loss. The only, and much more convenient option than the previous generation, is charging when magnetically connected to the edge of the iPad. In the same way, it is possible to pair the pencil with the tablet. With the previous version, it was necessary to charge the Pencil with a cable using an additional reduction or by connecting it to the Lightning connector of the iPad, which often became the target of ridicule on social networks.

The new generation also brings useful improvements in the form of the ability to change tools directly while manipulating the stylus. The Apple Pencil 2 can be replaced with an eraser by double-tapping its flat side.
Higher price
The continuous increase in the prices of the products of the Cupertino company also affected the Apple Pencil. The original version could be purchased for 2 CZK, but you will pay 590 CZK for the second generation. It should also be noted that the original Pencil cannot be connected to the new iPads, and if you are buying a new iPad, you will also have to reach for a new stylus. Another piece of information that came to light after the start of sales is the fact that in the packaging of the new Apple Pencil we will no longer find the replacement tip that was part of the first generation.
