Gone are the days of instantly killing products, Apple is doing it differently now

Apple has taken a big step. After 21 years, he finally ended the iPod product line. The last one was the 7th generation iPod touch, which you can still buy. After all, it was the same with the iMac Pro or the HomePod. 

Did it come like a bolt from the blue? Probably not. Clouds have been hanging over the iPod touch for a long time. Apple could come up with a successor or discontinue it. He chose the second path. Issued printing press, which mentioned his contribution to the world and goodbye and handkerchief. No greater honor is needed. But if we look at the last discontinued products of the company, the only iPod has no successor, unless we count iPhones.

Product Termination System 

When Apple discontinued the iMac Pro, it was only a reduction of the portfolio, because this professional all-in-one computer no longer made sense in its offer, but we still have iMacs here. When the HomePod was cut, we still have a successor and an alternative in the form of the HomePod mini. But the 7th generation iPod touch is really the last representative of the iPod product line, which Apple will probably never return to. It was replaced by iPhones and the iPod application was renamed to Music, where the Apple Music service plays a major role.

Whatever the last discontinued product we're talking about, Apple still offers it. He announced the end of the entire trio, but the definitive thing is that the warehouses are sold out, which is different from previous years, when the end really meant the end now. This announcement actually just says that new pieces are no longer out of production, and the old ones are sold out. But as was the case with the iMac Pro and HomePod, it can take several months. The iPod touch of the 7th generation was certainly not a sales blockbuster, so it is quite possible that it will be offered for a long time. And after the Apple Online Store itself, there are of course various APRs and other distributions, which will certainly be available for a while, if anyone happens to be interested.

In the case of the Apple Online Store, however, there is no price reduction in order to clear the warehouses faster. So the 7th generation iPod touch is still offered in three storage sizes, in six colors, with the option of free engraving at prices starting at CZK 5. If you want to have a piece of history at home, it is not a problem to order the latest iPod. But if it will increase in price in the future, it is difficult to judge. After all, a lot of them were made, and after all, apart from the fact that it is really the last model, it is nothing unique.
