On Friday, May 21st, not only the sharp sale of the new 24″ iMac starts, but orders for it will also be delivered on this day. However, the embargo on publishing information has already fallen for the preferred reviewers, so the Internet is starting to fill with observations about what someone likes and dislikes about the iMac with the M1 chip. However, positive reactions prevail throughout. As expected, the performance of the new iMac is similar to the previous Mac mini, MacBook Pro and MacBook Air, which also includes the M1 chip. IN The Verge conducted comprehensive tests that yielded (almost) the same numbers for almost all computers with Apple Silicone. However, the conclusion of the magazine is that if you want an iMac for office work, you will not encounter any limitations with it.

Gizmondo commented, for example, on the front camera, which he literally says is divine. Not only the 1080p resolution is responsible for this, but also the M1 chip, which takes care of the result. It is said that the result is even as good as if you were illuminated by movie sets. Engadget details the new design. For the test here, they chose the orange variant, which is said to be more like a cream. After all, many editors have a problem with color fidelity. The real one is also said to be different from the one depicted on the packaging. In any case, everyone agrees that the complete color range is absolutely brilliant: “It has a bit of a pinkish tint along its chin, while the back looks more distinctly orange. Despite the playful aesthetics of the iMac, it still looks like a premium device.”

However, the review also mentioned the impossibility of vertical positioning, which is also mentioned by Pocket-Lint, whose editor had to use a book to support the computer for the ideal position. He notes that the stand is even lower than the previous version of the iMac. Jason Snell, who writes at Six colors, has some good insights about what it's like to work on a color iMac with white bezels around the display: "It works really well, although I can imagine if you prefer to use constant dark mode, you'll have quite a dramatic contrast with your surroundings." CNBS he recommends investing in a keyboard with Touch ID, which he sees clear potential in web purchases, as well as quick fingerprint login. This is especially so if one computer is used by several household members or colleagues at work.

If you want to see all the available color options live, iJustine got the complete line of iMacs, which she duly filmed with individual unboxings. When she first came into contact with the iMac, she was surprised by its light weight. After all, she compared the computer to a huge iPad. Of course, Marques Brownlee also made his video. The unboxing of the machine itself is also interesting in it, where MKBHD jokingly draws attention to the fact that the iMac is placed upside down in its box.
