In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

Apple continues to reign supreme in the wearables market

According to the latest data from the company IDC In the second quarter of this year, the Californian giant was able to maintain the first place in the market for wearable accessories. In addition, the entire market grew by 14,1 percent, driven by high demand for wireless headphones and medical supplies in connection with the global pandemic. The most famous brands such as Apple, Huawei and Xiaomi have even improved over the past quarter. Other sellers are worse off. This is because they fail to attract new customers in the long term, which is why they move on the lower ranks.

Apple reportedly sold 5,9 million more products (compared to the second quarter of 2019) and thus improved by 25,3 percent year-on-year. The company's share of the wearable accessories market even rose from 31,1 to 34,2 percent. The second place was then won by Huawei, which managed to sell 18,5 million less products than Apple.

Apple's authentication system failed, allowing malware to enter the Mac

Apple operating systems are popular in the world mainly for their agility and security. When we compare, for example, macOS and Windows, it is clear to us at first glance that there are far fewer viruses on Mac. Of course, that doesn't mean you can't burn yourself on an Apple computer. Viruses are mainly spread through illegal copies of software, so if you go this route or are not careful, you can infect your computer quite quickly. Currently, new information in this field was brought by a foreign magazine TechCrunch, according to which Apple has repeatedly allowed malware to enter its platform.

As soon as the developer completes his application and wants to publish it, it must first be approved by Apple itself. This necessary verification process is directly required since the arrival of the macOS 10.15 Catalina operating system. If the software fails verification, it will be automatically blocked by macOS. Peter Dantini along with a security officer named Patrick Wardle from Objective-See but now they have discovered that the Californian giant has approved at least one application with a Trojan horse. This program is also available for the latest beta version of macOS 11 Big Sur.

The aforementioned Trojan is disguised as an Adobe Flash installer. This is probably the most used technique through which hackers convince users to install an application, infecting their computer almost immediately. It is said to be malware called Shlayer, which was named as the most common Mac threat in 2019. Based on data from security personnel, Apple revoked the earlier approval.

The new 27″ iMac (2020) reports the first problems

When new products arrive, we sometimes encounter some bugs that were simply not found during testing. Of course, Apple is no exception in this regard, which has now been confirmed by the users themselves. The new 27″ iMac has only recently entered the market and its first owners are already reporting problems.

Foreign forums have been filled with complaints from apple growers themselves, where the vast majority describe the same problem out of nothing. Various lines and other inaccuracies sometimes appear on the display of apple iMacs. In short, they are annoying and can disturb the user while working. It would be a huge problem if the displays were to blame for this error. But for now it looks like the graphics card is causing the mentioned lines and others. The problem does not affect all users. Only owners of models with the most powerful Radeon Pro 5700 XT GPU complain about the error. The error appears when the iMac switches from an integrated graphics card to a dedicated one.

If the assumptions of the users are confirmed, then a simple update of the mentioned graphics card could solve the problem. Apple has not yet commented on the whole situation, so it is not clear how things will continue with the new 27″ iMacs. How the error will be handled is unclear for now.
