The first hands-on videos of the new Apple Watch Series 5 have appeared

Apple Watch Series 5 will hit store shelves this Friday, but a handful of lucky people could get their hands on the watch ahead of time. The first hands-on videos appeared on YouTube, offering a closer look at the latest generation of smart watches from Apple.

In the first video, we can apparently see the Apple Watch Series 5 in a combination of an aluminum case with a Milanese strap. The watch is packaged in a soft case - a packaging method Apple started with last year's Apple Watch Series 4. The footage shows the new always-on display and how, thanks to the clever work of the gyroscope, it dims when it's pointing down, and when the wrist is raised or tapped its brightness will be fully lit. On the display we can see the watch face with large colored numbers, which was introduced in the watchOS 6 operating system.

Of course, the video cannot do without a closer look at the Compass application, which made its debut on the Apple Watch Series 5. Working with a built-in compass, the app allows users to see data such as altitude, longitude and latitude or direction.

Another of the published videos comes from Italy. It also shows the Apple Watch Series 5 in an aluminum design. In it, you can see the new Meridian dial, the operation of the always-on display and how the new generation of smart watches from Apple looks in direct comparison with the Series 4. The video from the Unbox Italia channel also shows the function of monitoring ambient noise, EKG or perhaps cycle monitoring.

It is not entirely clear how the watch got to its first owners. It is possible that either the person in question ordered them in the usual way on the Apple website and the delivery was exceptionally accelerated, or that the mentioned users work for local operators and had the opportunity to try out the models intended for display in the store. After the Keynote ended, the first hands-on videos from Cupertino started appearing on YouTube, one of which can be found, for example, on the magazine's channel Engadget.
