Compared to how small the iPhone 13 Pro Max box actually is, you'll be surprised how big the device is. But that device is really bloated with technology to the point of bursting. Before actually turning on the device, the first thing you assess is its dimensions. If you're worried that the biggest iPhone is too big for you, it probably is. Until now I was an iPhone XS Max user and it was already a very large device. 13 Pro Max is of course bigger, but at the same time heavier, and those differences are not completely negligible. Thanks to the change of the rounded frame to a sharply cut one, it simply holds differently, but we already know that from the iPhone 12 generation. However, if you think that you do not recognize the extra 30 g that the new product has gained, then know that you will definitely feel it. Compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max and 12 Pro Max models, which weigh the same 226 g, but the current increase may be negligible.

It is the same size as the previous generation, i.e. 6,7”, but it adds a few extra novelties. They are not only a higher typical maximum brightness, but of course also an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, i.e. the ProMotion function. I personally expected something more from him. But perhaps the stunning effect will come with gradual use and it is still too early to judge. After all, I only use the phone for a few hours.

But what you will enjoy is the smaller cutout. Apple has not yet used its size change in any way, and it is not even possible to judge that third-party application developers will be different. However, thanks to this detail, the phone looks simply different, characteristic of the 13th generation, and that's just nice, something different at first glance. If we leave aside small details, such as differently placed volume control buttons and color variants, you can also recognize the phone by the extremely huge photo system. It will take me a long time to get used to how much it protrudes above the back of the device and how it all wobbles on the flat surface of the table.

And it's just fun at first glance. You enjoy the automaticity when you just approach the scene and immediately see that the lenses have switched and that you can go even closer and even closer and take a really eye-catching picture. Personally, I hope Apple keeps this functionality, even if it adds a software button to manually activate the mode, which cannot yet be invoked other than simply approaching the object.

It is still too early to evaluate the performance, endurance and other judgments, I will save that until the review. For now, however, I can state one thing: the iPhone 13 Pro Max is a damn huge piece of iron, but it is fun from the very beginning of use. However, how it will be in a week is a question. The size and weight are real scares. However, you can read everything in our review. Oh, and also, the mountain blue is really great. And it captures fingerprints just as well, and every speck of dust can be seen just as well.
