For many of us, this year's launch of the brand new MacBook Pros is one of the biggest things to happen in the world of Apple this year. Of course, Apple computers are simply not for everyone, and certainly not those with a word Pro in the title. In order to understand this product and be willing to spend tens of thousands more for it, you simply have to be the so-called target girl. The new MacBook Pros are intended only for a very narrow group of users who can use it to the maximum. For ordinary users, there are other computers from Apple's portfolio that make more sense, even in terms of price.

I have personally been a MacBook Pro user for quite a few years. I've never owned a Mac other than a MacBook Pro, so this is close to my heart. When I unboxed my first "Pročko" a few years ago, I knew it was the perfect machine that would enable me to work better than ever before. Since then, I haven't turned away from Apple even for a moment, and even though the competition offers perfect machines, Apple is still Apple for me. When rumors of a brand new and redesigned MacBook Pro started a while ago, I slowly started jumping for joy - but I didn't quite believe some of the leaks because I thought Apple just wasn't going to go backwards. But I was wrong, and the MacBook Pro, which we, as the target group, have been calling for for a long time, is currently lying in front of me and I am writing my first impressions about it.

We skipped the unboxing in our magazine, because in a way it's still the same thing. Just for the sake of speed, the MacBook is packed in a classic white box - so it's not the black box that we find with iPhone Pros. Inside the box, in addition to the machine itself, there is a manual, a charging MagSafe - USB-C cable and a charging adapter - simply classic, that is, except for the cable. It is newly braided, which ensures its greater durability and resistance against tearing or even being run over by chairs, but mainly it is the MagSafe that we love so much. I can then tell true enthusiasts that the new MacBook Pro smells just like its predecessors after being unpacked. Once removed, just pull the MacBook out of the foil, then open and remove the display protective foil.

Honestly, when I saw the new MacBook Pro with my own eyes for the first time, I decided that I simply did not like it. This was mainly due to a different, more angular shape, together with a slightly greater thickness. But I quickly realized that this is exactly what we have been calling for for a long time. We wanted to sacrifice thickness for better cooling and higher performance, we wanted a more professional machine, which also fits the Apple product portfolio even better with its design. When I realized this, I just started liking the new MacBook Pro. But what are we going to lie to ourselves, the main role in this case is rather habit. When you use a machine with a certain design for several years straight, and then there is a change, it takes time to get used to it. That was absolutely the case here, and to top it off, I'll say that I don't like the original 13″ MacBook Pro that much anymore.

When the new MacBooks were introduced, many users criticized the upper cut-out, which does not have Face ID, but the classic front camera, which was upgraded to 1080p this year. I already talked about this cutout separately in one of the previous articles, which you can find below. Just as a quick reminder, I brought up with him the fact that the use of the cutout is definitely not illogical. Primarily, I think that Apple will really come with Face ID in the future years, within this new design and display that will not have to change. At the same time, the cutout is simply and simply iconic. We saw it for the first time on apple phones, and from a distance we are able to determine from the front that it is simply an iPhone. And it's the same now with MacBooks. With previous generations, we could recognize a MacBook by, for example, the model name in the lower frame, but this text has disappeared. You can recognize the new MacBook Pro from the front mainly thanks to the cut-out, which I personally like very much and I have no problem with it. And whoever has one, give it time, because on the one hand you will get used to it (again), just like with the iPhone, and on the other hand, it is more than clear that with the cut-out Apple has determined a kind of style that will also be used by the competition.

After starting up the Mac for the first time, I gradually noticed two features that really excited me. First of all, it was about the speakers, which are again absolutely famous, unrivaled and a step further compared to the last generation. You can recognize it beautifully from the start-up sound itself – when you hear it for the first time with the new MacBook Pro, you immediately realize that it is something unreal. This feeling is confirmed and amplified when the first song starts. The second thing is the display, which, in addition to its great colors, will amaze you with its softness and brightness. Due to the fact that mini-LED technology is used in this display, you can observe the so-called blooming, i.e. a kind of "blurring" around the white elements on a black background, but it is certainly nothing terrible. And as for black, the performance is comparable to OLED technology, which is again a major step forward.

In terms of performance, I definitely have nothing to complain about - but the truth is that I didn't test any goddamn demanding programs to begin with. I've only opened a few projects in Photoshop while simultaneously using Safari and a few other native apps. And I certainly didn't have any problem, even though I could watch how the operating memory, which is basically 16 GB, is filling up. If you are interested in more information about the new 14″ MacBook, for example because you are considering buying it, then definitely wait until the weekend when we will publish a comprehensive review of this machine. I can already tell you that you definitely have something to look forward to. The first impressions are absolutely great and the review will naturally be even better.
