A few minutes ago, we published an unboxing of the brand new iPhone 12 Pro on our magazine, which we managed to obtain for our editorial staff. The new "Pročko", which is currently sitting on my desk and I admire it, I had the opportunity to hold in my hand and work with it for some time. It is not for nothing that it is said that the first feelings and impressions are important with new things - and we decided to convey them to you through this article. Of course, you will have to wait a few days for a comprehensive and detailed review of the new Apple flagship, but we are bringing you the mentioned first impressions now.

Undoubtedly, one of the biggest drivers of the new iPhone 12 is the redesigned chassis, which is no longer rounded, but sharp. With this processing, Apple has decided to lean towards the new iPad Pro and Air, or the older iPhone 5. Personally, I have been hoping for this change for several years and I can finally say that I have seen it. As soon as I took the iPhone 12 Pro in my hand for the first time, I was convinced that it holds perfectly, which cannot be said about the previous generations with rounded edges. The device is held in the hand absolutely firmly and I am definitely not afraid that it might slip out - this feeling is really great. It's also important to mention that the sharp edges don't pinch or cut your fingers in any way - but we'll see how this feature holds up in the long run.

After holding the iPhone 12 Pro for some time, I found it to be an absolutely perfect size-wise device that will most likely suit most users. Despite the fact that a few years ago the daily use of a 6" or larger phone was more like science fiction, nowadays it is a reality that is really beautiful. Some of you might better imagine the size of the 6.1″ iPhone Pro when I say that it is very similar in size to the iPhone 11 or XR. Compared to the XS or 11 Pro, the 12 Pro is therefore 0,3″ larger, which is a difference, but not such that you won't get used to it within a few minutes. So to sum it up – the 12 Pro fits great in the hand, the edges don't cut and the size is absolutely perfect for a man with average sized hands.

Your chin will also drop the first time you press the side button and the display lights up. Even though I own an iPhone XS with an OLED display, I can say that the OLED panel labeled Super Retina XDR, which you can find in the 12 Pro, is a completely different song. If you put both devices next to each other, you will find that the 12 Pro has slightly better colors and maximum brightness. In this case, however, I definitely don't want to go into detailed specifications - we'll save those for the review. If you currently own an iPhone with an OLED display, the changes will definitely be noticeable. But I can't imagine what the feeling must be experienced by individuals who turn on the iPhone 12 Pro for the first time after several years of ownership of an iPhone with a classic LCD panel. If you are one of these individuals, believe that you will be shocked and pleasantly surprised. Unfortunately, a slightly negative feature is the still visible cutout for TrueDepth. Unfortunately, this is a kind of distracting element, without which the display and the front would be completely clean, as well as the back.

Right after a moment of testing, I decided to so-called "load" the new flagship - I started frantically doing everything I could think of on it. From browsing the web, to playing videos, to viewing notes. Even though the iPhone was doing a myriad of different activities in the background during these activities, including downloading apps, there wasn't even a single stutter. I remember my iPhone XS having minor issues when first booting up and occasionally getting stuck for very short periods of time, which doesn't happen with the 12 Pro. So the performance of the hardware can be considered more than sufficient, and I'm not afraid to say that most of us don't have a chance to use it at 100%. Again, you'll have to wait for specific performance figures and numbers - we'll discuss everything in the review.

So, if I were to evaluate my first impressions of the iPhone 12 Pro, I can say that for now it is a perfect device, which I will most likely hardly find fault with in the reviews. However, only time and a review, which we will publish in a few days, will be able to support this claim. So definitely continue to follow Jablíčkář magazine.
