In the world of The Flame in the Flood, mankind has faced a catastrophe of biblical proportions. Like Noah and his contemporaries from the Book of Books, civilization had to face a huge flood that swept off the face of the earth almost everything that was dear to people, especially almost the entire population. In this world, you find yourself in the role of a girl Scout who moves along the unpopulated surface together with her dog Aesop. One day, however, the couple hears an almost unknown sound from the radio, the cracking of another transmitter.

The story of the game thus promises a journey to the origin of that unknown signal. But we have to note right away that the story in The Flame in the Flood will not be much. The game is a representative of the roguelike genre. The main word will thus be the masterful mastery of the game systems during the ever-repeating passages. In the case of The Flame in the Flood, however, it will be more about canals. You will move around a randomly generated map on a hand-built raft and try to survive in the face of a dangerous wilderness.

Wild animals or the vagaries of the weather will be at your throat at individual stops, but the number one enemy in the game is the merciless river currents. Your raft can't take much, so you need to maneuver carefully and stop from time to time to spend some time repairing it. But you also have to spend time gathering food and ingredients to help you craft new items. Without them, you won't make it on the road. Despite the fact that the game can create awkward moments, it still looks great, and combined with a soundtrack by country singer Chuck Ragan.
