The legendary turn-based strategy Rome: Total War has been treading the waters of iOS devices for several years. Last time in the spring, we focused on this title with regard to the fact that on iOS, or iPhone, the first original data disc with the subtitle Barbarian Invasion has arrived. Now, after half a year, the original game has received another expansion.

There is a second data disc available for the original game, which is labeled Alexander and, as the name suggests, follows the campaigns of Alexander the Great in the campaign. The datadisk has been available since last night and the developers from Feral claim that, as with all previous versions, this one will offer the same experience as the original PC version.

This (separate) extension was released for iPads two years ago, the developers from Feral release the version for iPhones with a delay, because the control and user interface need to be adjusted for the needs of smaller screens. As in the past, owners of the iPad version will get the iPhone version for free. Everyone else will pay 129 crowns for it, which is a very good price considering the amount of entertainment offered.

The original title was very well rated, although according to many reviewers it did not offer as much depth and long playing time as the original Rome: Total War. Even so, it is, especially with regard to the platform, a unique strategic undertaking. Apart from Civilization and the classic Rome: Total War (with the Barbarian Invasion data disc), there are no other similar "hardcore" strategies on iOS. Those interested in this news must have iOS 12 installed on their iPhone. You can view the game in the App Store at this link.
