iPhone sales have been falling slightly every quarter in a row, and MacBooks haven't fared too well in recent years either. No fundamental change is expected for the first-named, but in the case of MacBooks, it looks like better times are starting to flash for Apple.

During the past quarter (April-June), Apple recorded a relatively large increase in sales, which, in a year-on-year comparison, approaches the 20% mark. That's a very good value in itself, but Apple also outperformed the competition during this period. Of the five largest notebook manufacturers, Apple recorded the highest increase in sales volume. Translated into the language of numbers, Apple in the 2nd quarter on sales of Macs took about 5,8 billion dollars.

Mac sales Q2 2019

As already stated above, none of the companies from the TOP 6 did this well. Only the sales of Lenovo (by 9,2%) and Acer (6,3%) increased year-on-year. The entire segment is more or less stagnant from a year-on-year perspective. Analyst company TrendForce predicts that MacBook sales will maintain their upward trend and the company will thus improve in the current quarter as well. The latter is usually somewhat weaker, as it precedes the introduction of new generations.

MacBook Pro macOS High Sierra FB

The end of the year should be relatively strong, considering the sales of MacBooks. We expect to launch several new products this fall. Whether it is the new Mac Pro, which will not be reflected in similar statistics, or the speculated and completely new 16″ MacBook Pro, which has a significantly greater sales potential. We may also see other updates to the other MacBook lines, although this is less likely given their recent hardware update.
