The Magic Trackpad is an extremely popular accessory for Apple users, with the help of which the macOS operating system can be controlled extremely comfortably. As such, the trackpad mainly benefits from maximum accuracy, gesture support and excellent integration with the system as such. The interesting thing is that, while it is normal for practically the whole world to control a computer with a combination of keyboard and mouse, Apple users, on the other hand, in many cases prefer the trackpad, which brings with it the already mentioned advantages.

Undoubtedly, we must not forget to mention the so-called Multi-Touch surface that supports various gestures and the Force Touch technology, thanks to which it can react to the force of pressure from the user. Of course, there is also a great battery life that lasts up to one month. It is the combination of these features that makes the trackpad a great companion that is miles ahead of its competition. It works incredibly precisely, quickly and flawlessly, both as an integrated trackpad on MacBooks and as a separate Magic Trackpad. The only problem may be the price. Apple charges CZK 3790 for it in white and CZK 4390 in black.

The Magic Trackpad has no competition

As we mentioned above, the only problem may be the price. When we compare it with the amount we would pay for an ordinary mouse, it is often several times higher. Even so, apple users prefer the trackpad. It brings them extremely important gestures, and in addition, it is an investment for several years ahead. You won't just change the trackpad, so there is no harm in buying it. But what if you wanted to save on it? In such a case, you may think of a simple solution – look around for available alternatives from other manufacturers.

But you will come across this way relatively soon. After a while of research, you will find that there is practically no alternative to the Magic Trackpad. You can only come across various imitations on the market, but they do not even come close to the original trackpad in terms of functionality. They mostly only offer left/right clicking and scrolling, but unfortunately nothing more. And that extra something is a very fundamental reason why someone would actually want to buy a trackpad.

Why is there no alternative

Therefore, a rather interesting question arises. Why is there no Magic Trackpad alternative available? Although an official answer is not available, it is fairly easy to guess. Apple seems to benefit primarily from the excellent interweaving of hardware and software. Since it develops both of these components, it can optimize them to their best form just so that they work together without any complications. When we then connect it with technologies like Force Touch and Multi-Touch, we get an uncompromising accessory that is simply worth it.
