One of the most essential functions that local Apple users do not yet have available is clearly the Czech Siri. Siri is a smart assistant from Apple that can help us with various problems, answer our questions, or control a smart home through voice commands. In general, this is a rather interesting gadget with huge potential. But there is a catch. We have to make do with English, as Siri unfortunately does not understand Czech. But why?

The main reason is that, as the Czech Republic, we are a small market for Apple, which is why, to put it simply, it makes no sense to bring local localization. It would most likely not pay off for the Apple company, because if it did, we would have had a Czech Siri a long time ago. The question is also what specifically determines that we are a small market. Apparently, it is not about population or GDP per capita.

Population

According to data from the Czech Statistical Office, the Czech Republic had 2021 million inhabitants as of the last December 10,516. Compared to the world's great powers, we are really just a tiny speck, making up only about 0,14% of the entire world's population. From this point of view, it seems logical that we don't have Czech Siri here. But it is necessary to realize that the localization of this voice assistant is not only in English-speaking countries, Germany, China and other countries, but also in significantly smaller countries. For example, the Netherlands had over 2020 million inhabitants in 17,1 and normally enjoys Siri support.

However, this function can also be enjoyed by residents of significantly smaller (in terms of population) countries, of which the Nordic states of Europe are a beautiful example. For example, Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish are supported. But Norway has "only" 5,4 million inhabitants, Finland about 5,54 million inhabitants and Sweden 10,099 million inhabitants. So they are all smaller than us in that respect. We can also mention Denmark with 5,79 million inhabitants. But in order not to look only to the north, we can also aim elsewhere. Hebrew is also supported, i.e. the official language of the state of Israel, where we find 8,655 million inhabitants. All this data is from the 2020 worldometers server.

The performance of the economy

It is also interesting to look at the performance of our economy. Although we have more inhabitants than the mentioned states, we lag behind them in terms of the mentioned performance. According to data from the World Bank, which comes from 2020, the GDP of the Czech Republic was 245,3 billion US dollars. At first glance, this is a relatively decent amount, but when we compare it with others, we will see considerable differences. For example, Norway boasts $362,198 billion, Finland $269,59 billion and Sweden $541,22 billion. Israel's GDP then amounts to 407,1 billion dollars.

Does the Czech Republic have few apple growers?

As we mentioned above, population size probably doesn't play a big role in local Siri support. For this reason, we are left with only one explanation, namely that there are not enough apple growers in the Czech Republic to make something like this even worthwhile. At the same time, it is necessary to take into account that he is not an apple picker like an apple picker. After all, Apple, like any other private company, needs to generate profit, so it is essential for it to sell new products. That's why we can't quite include people who have been working with one iPhone for years.
