With the launch of the iPhone 14 Pro, Apple ditched the TrueDepth camera cutout and replaced it with the Dynamic Island feature. It is clearly the most visible and interesting novelty of this year's iPhones, and even if it works perfectly with Apple applications, its use is still relatively limited. Applications from third-party developers with its support are not increasing.

Whatever "Kit" it is, Apple always introduces it to third-party developers so that they can implement the given function in their solutions and make proper use of its potential. But it's been a month since the introduction of the new iPhone series, and Dynamic Island still relies mainly on Apple apps, while you won't find those from independent developers with support for this feature. Why?

We are waiting for iOS 16.1

With the release of iOS 16, Apple failed to add one of the expected features that it teased at WWDC22, namely live activities. We should expect these only in iOS 16.1. To optimize apps for this feature, developers need access to ActivityKit, which is not yet part of the current iOS. In addition, as it appears, the interface for Dynamic Island is part of it, which clearly shows that Apple itself does not actually allow developers to program their titles for this new product, or rather they do, but these titles are still not available within App Store without updating iOS to version 16.1.

Of course, it is in Apple's own interest that developers use this new feature to the maximum extent possible, and it is therefore only a matter of time before iOS 16.1 is released and the App Store starts to fill up with applications and updates to existing ones that use Dynamic Island in some way. It is also worth mentioning that Dynamic Island is now supported by other applications that are not from Apple. But the fact that these are common applications that use it in a common way, such as Apple titles, is to blame. Below you will find a list of applications that already interact with Dynamic Island in some way. If you want to debug your application for Dynamic Island as well, you can follow the of this manual.
