The arrival of new Macs with the second generation of Apple Silicon chips is slowly knocking on the door. Apple closed the first generation with the M1 Ultra chip, which went into the brand new Mac Studio desktop. However, this started a big discussion among apple growers. The vast majority expected the current generation to end with the introduction of the Mac Pro with a new generation chip. But nothing like that happened, and this professional Mac still relies on processors from Intel's workshop to this day.

It is therefore a question of how long Apple will actually wait with him. But in principle, it doesn't matter that much. As a professional computer, the Mac Pro has a much smaller target audience, which is why there isn't as much interest in it across the community. Apple fans, on the other hand, are rather curious about the basic and more advanced Apple Silicon chips of the second generation, which, according to various speculations and leaks, we should expect later this year.

Apple Silicon M2: Will Apple repeat the initial success?

The Cupertino giant has put itself in a rather difficult situation. The first series (M1 chips) was an incredible success, as it significantly increased the performance of Macs and reduced their consumption. Apple thus delivered practically exactly what it promised when introducing the transition to a new architecture. That is why fans, users of competing products and experts are now focusing on the company. Everyone is expecting what Apple will show off this time and whether it will be able to build on the success of the first generation. It can all be summed up quite simply. Expectations for M2 chips are simply high.

Practically the entire community expected the first M1 chips to be accompanied by minor problems and small errors that would eventually be ironed out over time. However, as we mentioned above, nothing like that happened in the finals, which gave Apple a bit of a run for its money. On the community forums, users are therefore divided into two camps - either Apple will not bring a major shift forward, or on the contrary, it will pleasantly surprise us (again). However, if we look at it from a broader point of view, it is already more or less clear to us that we have more to look forward to.

Why can we be calm?

Although at first glance it is rather unclear whether Apple will be able to repeat the initial success or not, in essence we can already be more or less clear about it. The transition from Intel processors to its own solution is not something that a company would decide on overnight. This step was preceded by years of analysis and development, according to which it was concluded that it was the right decision. If the giant wasn't sure of this, he wouldn't even logically have embarked on something similar. And exactly one thing can be deduced from this. Apple has long known very well what its second generation of Apple Silicon chips can offer, and that it will probably surprise apple lovers again with its capabilities.
