Newest version of the iOS operating system with the designation 9.3 brings with it a number of problems. Owners of older models of iPhones and iPads encountered the problem already when updating to this version, where they often had a problem activating their devices when installing without connecting to iTunes. Apple resolved this issue by pulling the update for these devices and then re-releasing it in a fixed version.

But now an even more serious problem has appeared, which causes even the latest products to be unable to open Internet links. The cause of the problem is currently unknown. However, Apple has already announced that it is working on a fix.

The error manifests itself in the way that on iOS 9.3 (and exceptionally also on older versions of iOS) it is not possible to open links in Safari, in Messages, in Mail, in Notes or in some third-party applications, including Chrome or WhatsApp. When the user clicks on the link, instead of the page they are looking for, they only encounter the application crashing or freezing.

Some users also report that clicking on the link does nothing, and holding your finger on the link causes the application to crash and other problems with its subsequent operation. This is also shown in the video attached below. Hundreds of problems of this type have already been reported on Apple's official support forum.

It is not yet known how to successfully fix the problem and it is waiting for Apple. However, the problem seems to be in the incorrect handling of the API for so-called universal links. Specifically, they are talking about, among other things, the Booking.com application, which is used to search for and book accommodation through the portal of the same name.

Server editors 9to5Mac they conducted a test and installed this application on editorial devices (iPhone 6 and iPad Pro), which until then had not been affected by the problem. After installing the app, the problem really manifested itself. But the bad news is that uninstalling the app or restarting the device didn't fix the error right away.
