Intel has been the definition of the best computer hardware for many years, and although users had to pay extra for it, they got a quality product that consistently satisfiesoval customer needs, be it productivity or gaming. And as a bonus, the sticker also made many happy Intel Inside on crates or laptops. AMD, on the other hand, has not only been compared to a B-grade manufacturer many times, but has also been derided as a manufacturer of heaters, not processors usable for a PC.

In recent years, however, the situation began to change dramatically, and certainly not because we are facing a gas crisis. The situation began to turn in AMD's favor only in recent years when it launched new Ryzen processors. It was already clear from the presentation of the processors that it was over fun and AMD is getting dead serious about processors. And so the company surprised the world whenž told the public for the first time that its processors are not only cheaper, buté more powerful than Intel chips. It was not just marketing talk, the differences in performance were substantiated by the results of benchmark tests, and the skeptical part of the audience, including journalists, gradually began to be convinced of their authenticity.

More performance for less money and, in some cases, better cooling have been the reason why even some of Intel's staunchest fans have defected to the rival camp. AMD in recent years finally in the processor market started something mean. Intel meanwhile was becoming confident and growing competitione didn't notice. At least not publicly. The company further sought its own, however, this turned out to be a bad decision. In December of last year, AMD completely dominated processor sales on Amazon in various parts of the world. For example in the western markets, the situation is such that Ryzen can be found in the first ten places, while in the Czech market only one Intel appeared in the Top 10 table, and only in ninth place. The dates are from the Christmas season, huhž It doesn't exactly help Intel either.

There are many factors behind AMD's popularity. First of all, the company began to push more on marketing and emphasize that it is not a second-rate manufacturer. It also helps the company, especially with gamers, that with each modern Ryzen processor, in addition to a cooler and a sticker, you also get an activation code for the Xbox Game Pass for PC service in the package. This, like the version for Xbox One, provides players with the opportunity to download approximately 100 games, including the latest from the Xbox Game Studios workshop, such as The Outer Worlds, Gears 5, or soon the new Microsoft Flight Simulator. Players can thus get over 100 games with the new processor, which they can play for free for the duration of their active membership. Besides, it's a cheap and legal way to get games and also safer than piracy.

However, AMD started working on achieving this goal earlier. It started making the right moves and became the exclusive manufacturer of processors for the best-selling consolese of the world: PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. And this partnership continues in the future with the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X models. The company thus gained an advantageous position in the console market and gained valuable know-how for designing its processors for PCs by working with Microsoft and Sony. This also improves themher reputation in the eyes of manufacturers of other notebooks and computers from manufacturers such as Lenovo, Dell or Asus. In short, AMD is starting to be attractive and "in" in the new decade.

In contrast, Intel started the decade rather bleakly, his presentation at CES it seemed burnt out and it's shocking that the company synonymous with the processor didn't show the news for this year, but straight away "killed" it by announcing the news for 2021. In addition, it showed the Intel XE DG1 graphics card, which, however, is very weak and allows you to play Destiny 2 jen on low details in Full HD resolution. So it can run a 2017 game on low settings that was designed to use more of the processor than the graphics card.

Intel's biggest and most up-to-date news from its CES conference is far from reaching the quality of the current low-end (Radeon RX 5500 XT/GeForce GTX1650 Super), let alone high-end solutions such as Radeon VII or GeForce RTX 2080 Super. On the other hand AMD presentation was more lively, the company devoted enough space here to its partners, including Microsoft and Apple, where it emphasized cooperation on graphics cards for the latest Mac Pro and MacBooks. It presented the new Ryzen Mobile 4000 processors for notebooks in combination with Vega graphics chips, which it presents as the most powerful mobile processors in the world.

For the turning point changes in the distribution of forces we can put the moment when Intel refused to produce processors for the iPhone, thus si the company denied the market with almost 1,8 billion devices sold. Other mobile manufacturers rely on Qualcomm, MediaTek or make their own chips (Samsung). Intel also failed to enter the game console worldí, which today are ruled by AMD and Nvidia. The latter is also the dominant manufacturer of AI systems for the intelligent cary. Intel's 5G chip initiative also failed.

As a result, the company sold most of its 8 patents to Apple. At the same time, 500 former employees of Intel's mobile division transferred to Apple. In the newest market, that of game streaming services, Intel provides processors for the first generation of Google Stadia (combined with AMD Vega cards), while Microsoft and Sony also use AMD processors to power their consoles. As a result, Intel continues to support the production of processors for servers (even there, however, AMD is starting to expand), table computers and laptops from manufacturers such as Dell, HP and Asus. And also Apple, which is, of course, the only "exclusive" manufacturer of computers with Intel processors.
