In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. We focus here exclusively on the main events and leave aside all speculations and various leaks. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

The best monitor of the year? Apple Pro Display XDR!

Last year we saw the presentation of the renewed Mac Pro, alongside which the new Apple Pro Display XDR also appeared for the first time. This is a professional display designed for the needs of professionals, where it places maximum emphasis on accurate color display and thus specifically targets various photographers, graphic artists, people working with 3D graphics, video creators and others. This monitor boasts perfect specifications and, according to the Californian giant, can compete with displays that are several times more expensive. In any case, many professionals do not agree with this statement, but we'll talk about that some other time.

The Apple Pro Display XDR is undoubtedly a great monitor and can satisfy the needs of a number of users. In addition, The Society for Information Display came out today with brand new data that confirms the quality of the Apple monitor itself. We saw the announcement of the 26th edition of The Society for Information Display. This is an annual evaluation of displays, where their quality is taken into account. And how did the display from the Californian giant's workshop turn out? The monitor made it to the shortlist of three displays that were designated as Displays of the Year. Apple shares this award with Samsung's flexible display and BOE's special display. But this is not the first time that the Californian giant has received this award. In the past, for example, the Apple Watch 4, iPad Pro (2018) and iPhone X could boast of the "Display of the Year".

The Bill Gates Foundation bought over half a million shares of Apple

Investing in the stock market is undoubtedly a trend today. A number of investors and ordinary people constantly monitor the development of prices and buy shares of various companies according to their preferences. Of course, Bill Gates is no exception. As it turned out, his foundation (The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation) bought 501 shares of AAPL in the first quarter of this year. You may be wondering if this investment has paid off and if it is not a bit pointless. But if we look at the price development itself, we can already say with certainty that Bill Gates has made money for now.

Of course, the exact date when the shares were bought is not known, but we have the mentioned price development at our disposal. The value of Apple's stock fell by about 15% at the time, but since then it has again met with a 25% increase. Therefore, even if the investment took place at the then highest price and the sale now, at its lowest point, there would still be a profit. But this is not the only investment the foundation made in the first quarter of 2020. According to the latest data (Smarter Analyst), Bill Gates simultaneously invested in companies such as Alibaba (which includes, for example, Aliexpress), Amazon and Twitter.

Apple has patented the space for the  Pencil in the Magic Keyboard

It's no secret that the Californian giant is constantly trying to innovate. Incidentally, this is proven by a number of published patents, the publication of which is literally happening on a treadmill. In addition, a completely new patent was spotted today, which points to the possible use of an external Magic Keyboard for the iPad Pro, which could hide the popular Apple Pencil. As you can see in the gallery below, a hole could be made directly in the keyboard for the Pencil. Of course, we don't have to wait for this gadget at all. As we mentioned at the beginning – Apple constantly publishes a huge number of various patents, which often do not even see the light of day.

According to the blog Patently Apple this patent has huge potential and could possibly give us an indication of how Apple is going to improve future generations of their Magic Keyboard for iPads. How the whole situation will turn out in the end is, of course, in the stars for now. For now, we can only say that Apple is definitely working on its new and we have something to look forward to.
