Facebook is preparing a significant novelty for its Messenger mobile application. In the coming months, it will launch a service in the United States that will allow users to send money to each other for free. The popular social network thus opposes solutions such as PayPal or Square.

Sending money will be really easy in Messenger. You click on the dollar icon, enter the desired amount and send. You will need to have your account linked to a Visa or MasterCard debit card and verify each transaction either with a PIN code or on iOS devices via Touch ID.

Unlike, for example, Snapchat, which partnered with Square Cash to offer a similar service, Facebook decided to build the payment function itself. Debit cards are therefore stored on Facebook servers, which promises maximum security meeting all the latest standards.

Sending money will be completely free and it will happen instantly, the money will arrive in your account within one to three days depending on the bank. For the time being, Facebook will launch the new service in the United States, but did not provide information about expansion to other countries.
