At the very beginning of March, we should expect the spring Apple Event, during which the first new products of the year will be revealed. Although most talk about the arrival of the high-end Mac mini with more modern Apple Silicon chips and the 3rd generation iPhone SE with 5G support, it is still not clear whether Apple will surprise us with something else. Since last year, there have been talks about the arrival of professional Apple computers, and the biggest candidate for the spring keynote is undoubtedly the redesigned iMac Pro. But what are the chances of his arrival?

When Apple introduced the first Macs with the M2020 chip in 1, it was clear to everyone that the so-called entry-level models would come first, but the Pro we'll have to wait for another Friday. Now, however, all basic Macs are equipped with the aforementioned chip, and even the first "profi” piece – a redesigned 14″ and 16″ MacBook Pro, along with which Apple boasted a pair of new M1 Pro and M1 Max chips. Now it is expected that the mentioned high-end Mac mini will also see the same change. On the other hand, there is hardly any talk about the iMac Pro and its possible changes.

iMac Pro with Apple Silicon

Some analysts and leakers predicted that the new iMac Pro with a professional Apple Silicon chip would be released alongside the MacBook Pro (2021), possibly sometime at the end of last year, but that did not happen in the end. Although there is not much talk about this device at the moment, some still believe that its arrival is practically around the corner. This Apple computer was often mentioned by one of the most popular and accurate leakers with the nickname @dylandkt. According to his information, the new iMac Pro could indeed arrive during this year's spring event, but on the other hand, it is possible that Apple will encounter unspecified problems on the production side.

Even so, the goal of the Cupertino giant is to present this piece on the occasion of the upcoming Event. Anyway, Dylan pointed out one interesting thing. Practically most expect that Apple will also rely on the same options for this model as we know from the aforementioned MacBook Pro (2021). Specifically, we mean the M1 Pro or M1 Max chip. In the final, however, it could be a little different. This leaker got quite interesting information, according to which the device will offer the same chips, but with other configurations – Apple users will have up to a 12-core CPU at their disposal, for example (at the same time, the most powerful M1 Max chip offers a maximum of 10-core CPU).

Will there be a new iMac Pro?

Whether we will actually see a new iMac Pro is unclear for now. If so, it can be assumed that Apple will be inspired by the 24″ iMac (2021) and the Pro Display XDR monitor in terms of design, while the most powerful chip from the Apple Silicon series will slumber inside. Practically, the Cupertino giant will get away with the second truly professional device. This time, however, in the form of a desktop.
