Apple announced unpleasant news for eager fans of new iPhones, but relatively pleasant news for itself. The iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, which are due to hit the shelves in selected countries this Friday, will be an almost unavailable product on that day. Apparently, all Plus models and Jet Black variants are hopelessly sold out.

In its statement, Apple clearly stated that it will not be able to accommodate those interested in buying a new iPhone in brick-and-mortar Apple Stores without a prior reservation in some cases. In limited stock, it will only have the iPhone 7 in black, silver, gold and rose gold color combinations. The iPhone 7 Plus and models in glossy black have already been completely sold out in pre-orders and will be completely out of stock by Friday.

Those interested who have not yet ordered the new iPhone can still use pre-orders in the Apple Online Store, but the waiting periods have been significantly extended. In the United States, Apple currently does not guarantee delivery of almost any of the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus on the first day of sale, i.e. Friday. In the best case, customers will have to wait about a week, in the worst case, which especially concerns the dark black iPhone, until November.

The said matter is supposed to be one of the reasons why the Californian company announced even before the first weekend sale that will not release sales figures. It would give rise to misconceptions about what the demand is, since Apple cannot even satisfy it.

For example, in Australia, where due to the time zone, sales start earlier, traditional queues have already started to form in front of brick-and-mortar stores, after which Apple had to inform even the very first people waiting that they will definitely not buy the iPhone 7 Plus on Friday. He gave out $75 vouchers to at least some as a form of apology.
