It was June 29, 2007, when a product went on sale in the United States that changed the world in an unprecedented way over the next ten years. We are, of course, talking about the iPhone, which is celebrating its decade of life this year. The graphs attached below eloquently demonstrate its impact on various areas of our lives…
Magazine Recode prepared for the aforementioned 10th anniversary, the same number of charts showing how the iPhone changed the world. We have selected four of the most interesting for you, which confirm how "big thing" the iPhone has become.
Internet in your pocket
It's not just the iPhone, but the Apple phone definitely started the whole trend. Thanks to phones, we now have instant access to the Internet, all we have to do is reach into our pockets, and the data transferred while surfing the Internet is already exceeding voice data in a dizzying way. It is logical, since voice data as such is often not used anymore and communication is done over the Internet, but still the growth in consumption is quite impressive.
Camera in your pocket
With photography, it's very similar to the internet. The first iPhones did not have nearly the quality of cameras and cameras we know from mobile devices today, but over time people could stop carrying cameras with them as an additional device. iPhones and other smart phones today can produce the same quality photos as dedicated cameras and above all – people always have them at hand.
TV in your pocket
In 2010, television ruled the media space and people spent the most time on average. In ten years, nothing should change about its primacy, but the consumption of media on mobile devices via the mobile Internet is also growing in a very fundamental way during this decade. According to the forecast Zenith in 2019, a third of media viewing should take place via the mobile internet.
The desktop Internet, radio and newspapers follow closely behind.
The iPhone is in Apple's pocket
The last fact is quite well known, but it is still good to mention it, because even within Apple itself it is easy to prove how important the iPhone is. Before its introduction, the Californian company reported revenues of less than 20 billion dollars for the entire year. Ten years later, it's more than tenfold, the most important of which is that the iPhone accounts for a full three-quarters of all revenue.
Apple is now extremely dependent on its phone, and it remains an unanswered question whether it will be able to find a product that can at least come close to the iPhone in terms of revenue...
I would rather be interested in how iPhones (individual generations) were sold in our country. At the time of the 1st and 2nd generations, Nokia still ruled overwhelmingly here.
So the 1st generation was not even officially sold here. I bought up to 3G
with T-Mobile (with iOS 3.1.1 I'm fine with it, still without Czech), even then
discounted price of 7 thousand, I can indulge myself today. Today
one is happy for a discount, so a liter max. :D
That's a bit stupid, you kicked the 3.0 way too far, I officially bought a 3G with OS 2.1, the triple system already had a 3GS
I don't think so, because T-Mobile definitely sold with iOS 3.xx and it was only EN, because I remember that I didn't know anything about it :D and I was quite confused because apple doesn't give any instructions. Also see the review here

"The phone we tested still lacked Czech localization, na
this will come with the next firmware upgrade. It is strange, however, that between
supported languages include Polish, even though Poland will see the iPhone 3G,
as well as the Czech Republic, only in the second wave. Words with Czech
but the iPhone already displays diacritics correctly. With older firmware it was
letters with hooks or dashes displayed in bold when using a bold font
normal font"
I still own an iPhone 2G in a complete package and even with OS 1.0, it's still an excellent mobile phone, it's never been serviced since I bought it, I've only changed the battery
the first iPhone 2g was not officially sold in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, I had my 2g brought directly from the USA and for a month I played around and found out how to unblock it to the networks and I finally managed to do it in that house, it was something completely different no like today, when everyone has an iPhone, it's a shame that the time of the first iPhone is gone
I remember buying it right away on Aukra from some guy... and now I have to jog my memory. I think under the nickname libijaro. He lived/lives in the US and had plenty, in some mysterious way. He wanted about 16 for 13700GB Believe it or not I had it until 2015 before I lost it. I still think 3.5″ is best for a phone.
iOS 1.0 had an incomparably more beautiful design than today's garish, oversaturated iOS desktops.
mainly, the phone starts up faster in 11.s and turns off in 2.s, simply overall the phone is faster than 3.1.3, I can compare it because I have both systems, both 1.0 and 3.1.3, the same was the case with iP 3G, I had 4.1 in nom, the phone was almost unusable, I managed to return it to OS 3.0 and the phone improved by 80%, so it's a hell of a thing to know, but the iPhone 2G with OS 1.0 is simply a legend and that's without a doubt, the newer systems are not bad but It's not the same anymore, it doesn't have the charm and expensiveness of the first iPhones
