A few weeks ago, Apple came out with computers equipped with the new Apple M1 processors. The company boasted that it had managed to create significantly more economical and, above all, more powerful processors. It should be noted that user reviews of California companies can only confirm the word. Many, loyal Microsoft fans until then, are starting to think about leaving Windows and switching to macOS. We'll show you a few things you should know during this transition.

macOS is not Windows

It is understandable that when you use Windows for several years and switch to a completely new system, you have certain habits from the previous one. But before you make the switch, be aware that you'll have to learn to access files a little differently, use new keyboard shortcuts, or familiarize yourself with the system. As for keyboard shortcuts, for example, it is very often the case that the Cmd key is used instead of the Ctrl key, even though you can find Ctrl on the keyboard of Apple computers. In general, macOS behaves differently compared to Windows, and it goes without saying that you will get used to the new system for the first few days. But patience brings roses!

The best antivirus is common sense

If you already own an iPhone or iPad and are thinking about expanding the ecosystem, you probably don't have any antivirus software downloaded on your mobile device. You can also access macOS in the same way, which is relatively well-secured and hackers don't attack it as much because it's not as widespread as Windows. However, even macOS doesn't catch all malware, so you have to be careful in any case. Do not download suspicious files on the Internet, do not open suspicious e-mail attachments or links, and above all, avoid attacks when a link to download an antivirus program pops up at you while surfing the Internet. The best antivirus program in this case is common sense, but if you don't trust it, feel free to reach for an antivirus.

Compatibility is almost seamless these days

There was a time when many Windows applications were not available for macOS, which is why Apple's operating system was not very popular in Central Europe, for example. Today, however, you don't have to worry - the vast majority of the most used applications are also available on Mac, so you are definitely not dependent on native applications from Apple. At the same time, don't despair even if you can't find the software for macOS. It is often possible to find a suitable and often better alternative. However, before buying, make sure that the software in question offers all the functions that you will use. Keep in mind that you won't be installing Windows on new Macs with M1 processors yet, so think carefully about whether you can get by with macOS, or whether you'll occasionally need to switch to Microsoft's operating system.
