If you buy a new iPhone or iPad and back up the old one, all your data will be uploaded to iCloud before the transfer, and it doesn't matter how much data you have there. The only downside is that it is automatically removed after three weeks. But it's great that Apple will provide you with convenient data transfer even when you don't want to pay temporarily for any plan on iCloud.

iCloud+ will definitely not create your own domains as you write, but will allow the use of e-mail addresses with your own domain name. It's a pretty big difference. 🙄
