In another of our regular series, we will gradually introduce native applications from Apple for iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch and Mac. While the content of some episodes of the series may seem trivial to you, we believe that in most cases we will bring you useful information and tips for using native Apple applications.

Podcasts is also a popular native application from Apple. You can use the application across all your Apple devices.

Playback control

Controlling playback in Podcasts for iOS is really very simple - you'll find the pro button in the middle of the podcast episode panel launch or suspension playback, then buttons on the sides for moving forward or backward by a certain number of seconds. If you want to change this interval, run Settings -> Podcasts, where you scroll about halfway down the screen to the section Rewind buttons. Here you can select in how many seconds playback will scroll. You can scroll in the podcast on the bar just below the preview of the given episode, at the bottom of the screen you will find the bar for manual control volume playback. In the center of the lower part of the card with the episode you will then find a button to play on external speakers, ve headphones or Apple TV.

After tapping on three dots in the lower right corner of the screen you will get more options to work with the episode - you can it to share delete, file to the queue or maybe marked as they will lose. In this menu you will also find commands for Abbreviations Siri. Do you listen to podcasts before bed and don't want them playing all night? Just slide the card with the currently playing episode up and tap the button Timer.

Playing episodes

In native Podcasts, you can also determine how and in what order individual podcast episodes will be played. Go to the main page of the podcast, click on the three dots in the upper right and select "Settings", where you can then choose the order in which the episodes of the selected podcast will be played. IN Settings -> Podcasts you can set it again continuous playback, where after one episode is played, the next episode starts automatically.
