In today's installment of our regular series on native Apple apps, we'll continue our focus on Pages for iPhone. This time we will take a closer look at working with tables, their addition, creation, modification and deletion.

Similar to the Mac, you can use several table styles in Pages on the iPhone and edit them in different ways. You can easily add a table in Pages either to the main text (the table will move along with the text as you type), or insert it as a floating object anywhere on the page (the table will not move, only the text will move). If you work in a page-organized document, new tables are always added to the page, where they can be moved freely.

To insert a table into the text, first click on the place where it should be firmly placed. If you want to insert a table that can be moved freely, click outside the text to stop displaying the cursor. To add a table, click the “+” icon at the top of the screen and then select the table symbol. To browse the styles, scroll the menu with tables to the side. Click to select the desired table, double-click to add content to the table - then you can start typing. You can move the table by clicking on it and dragging the wheel in the upper left corner - if this does not work for you, select the table by clicking, click on the brush icon on the top bar -> Layout, to turn off the option Scroll with text. You can also change the look and format of a table or cell by clicking the brush icon.

To create a table from existing cells, select the cells with the data you want to use in the new table. Hold your finger on the selection until it visually comes to the fore, then drag it to a new location in the document - a table will automatically be created with the selected data. If you need to copy an entire table, simply tap on it and then tap on the wheel in the upper left corner of it. Tap Copy, tap to deselect the table, tap where you want to paste the table, and then just tap Paste. To delete a table, first tap to select it, tap the wheel in the upper left corner, and then select Delete.
