We're coming to the end of our series on working with PDF files in native Preview on the Mac. In the previous part, we looked a little closer at annotations and PDF editing, today we will look at how you can work with pages in Preview or combine multiple documents into one.

Combine multiple PDFs into one file

In native Preview on Mac, you can easy to connect two or more PDF files in one single file. If you want at the same time keep both separate files, using the command File -> Duplicate create first before connecting them separate copies. Then all of them files, which you want unite, open in the application preview – files are opened in separate windows. In the bar at the top of your Mac screen, click View -> Thumbnails. Then in one of the windows choose in the sidebar page thumbnails, which you want to connect, and drag and drop is up to sidebars in the second window. Order thumbnails in the sidebar you can drag and drop to change. If you want to the beginning or the end of the selected PDF add the entire document, the icon of the added document is sufficient drag from Finder to the sidebar with thumbnails. But you can also in Preview open multiple files in one window. IN  menu in the left corner of your Mac screen, click System Preferences, select Dock and select "Prefer panels when opening documents" in the menu Always.

Working with pages

If you want to PDF file in Preview add more pages, first open the file you want to edit. After that select a page, to appear in front of the newly selected page, in the bar at the top of your Mac screen Edit -> Add and select the paste option. For deletion some of the pages in the PDF file click on the bar at the top of the screen to View -> Thumbnails. By clicking select pages, which you want to delete, and then select again on the top bar Edit -> Delete. Order pages in the file you change simply by dragging their thumbnails in the sidebar. If you want pages from one PDF file to copy to the second, open both files in Preview first. In both windows, click on the top bar View -> Thumbnails (or View -> Outline). Alone copying then you execute by dragging selected pages from one window to another.
