In today's summary from the world of Apple, we will once again focus on the news brought to us by the latest Apple phones. In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk about the capacities of used batteries, which were only confirmed yesterday. Thanks to the support of 12G networks, the iPhone 5 should also be able to handle downloading updates of the iOS operating system. However, owners of selected PlayStation consoles can also rejoice, as they will soon see the arrival of the Apple TV application. iMovie and GarageBand for iOS have also received minor changes.

iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro have the same 2815mAh battery

The entry of new Apple phones into the market is literally just around the corner. The 6,1″ iPhone 12 and 12 Pro should hit the market as early as tomorrow, but there are already a number of reviews and more detailed analyzes from foreign reviewers available online. Although we know practically everything about the new pieces, until now we were not sure about the capacity of the models mentioned above. Fortunately, the answer to this question was provided by a Chinese video from Io Technology in which the iPhones were taken apart.

Immediately after disassembly, at first glance we can notice the identical base plates in the shape of the letter L. In the case of the better Pro version, there is of course an extra connector for the LiDAR sensor. But as we already indicated above, we are mainly concerned with the differences in the battery. All speculations and conjectures can finally go aside - as the disassembly itself showed, both models share the same battery with a capacity of 2815 mAh.

In the current situation, we are waiting for the arrival of the mini and Pro Max versions, which will arrive only in November. Those are expected to have a capacity of 2227 mAh and 3687 mAh. Undoubtedly, the interesting thing is that the batteries used in this year's generation of Apple phones are smaller than in the previous generation. According to various reports, this is due to the fact that Apple needed more space for 5G components in the iPhones, and because of this, the battery had to be "trimmed". The video continues to show that the iPhone 12 series uses Qualcomm's 5G modem. X55. Although the video attached above is entirely in Chinese, according to various sources the automatic translation should be quite accurate.

Apple TV app heading to PlayStation consoles

In recent months, a number of smart TV manufacturers have been bringing Apple TV to their older models as well. Among these manufacturers is Sony, which recently decided to deliver the program to its very popular PlayStation consoles, which it announced on its official blog.

The application specifically targets the fourth and fifth generation PlayStation, while in the case of the PS 5 there is also support for the new Sony Media Remote controller. Thanks to the arrival of Apple TV, gamers will be able to enjoy programs from  TV+ or watch a movie from iTunes in their free time. The arrival of the application dates back to the same day that the PlayStation 5 will enter the market - namely Thursday, November 12.

Downloading iOS updates will be able to take place over the 5G network

A brand new option is coming to the latest Apple phones, which is connected to the expected support of 5G networks. iPhone 12 and 12 Pro users will be able to download operating system updates directly via the aforementioned 5G network. Of course, you can activate this option in Settings, specifically in the Mobile network category, where you turn on the option Allow More Data on 5G.

According to official document from the Californian giant, with this option you will simultaneously activate FaceTime video and audio calls in significantly higher quality and allow other applications to use the potential of 5G to improve the user experience. Older generation phones that only support 4G/LTE will still need a WiFi connection to download updates.

Apple has updated iMovie and GarageBand for iOS

Today, the Californian giant also updated its popular iMovie and GarageBand applications for iOS, where new options have appeared. As for iMovie, users will now be able to watch, edit and share HDR video directly from the native Photos app. At the same time, the option to import and share 4K videos at 60 frames per second has been added. Other changes have been made to the tool for writing text in videos, where we will be able to use three new effects and a number of other fonts.
