If you have at least some knowledge of computer games, you've probably heard of a series called Civilization (or often shortened to "Civka"). This is a legendary turn-based strategy, the first volume of which saw the light of day in 1991. The fifth volume sold over eight million units, and the sixth volume, which was released last year, also did very well - both in terms of ratings and sales as such. A surprising news hit the web this evening that developer studio Aspyr Media has managed to come up with a full iPad port. So if you have a compatible iPad, you can play this legend on it too.

It's hard to imagine such a classic as "Civka" without debate. However, if you haven't had the privilege, it's a turn-based strategy where you build your civilization and try to leave as big a mark as possible on the game world map. Within this particular version, you can play as many factions that are based on real-world foundations. For example, you can play for the United States (with a leader in the form of FD Roosevelt), England (Queen Victoria) and many other historically interesting personalities.

During the game, you gradually move through time as you overcome individual technological obstacles. There is a classic technology tree with many development branches, a political development tree, advanced diplomacy, a combat system and multiplayer. You can read more about the game at the game's official website in the App Store, or read/watch some Civ VI review on the web/YouTube.

Civilization VI for iPad is available from tonight. This is a full-fledged port of the PC version, which contains the base game without additional DLC. To run it, you will need an iPad Air 2 generation and later, iPad 2017 or any iPad Pro. Older devices are out of luck due to the demands. If the game interests you, the download is free (3,14GB) and you have 60 rounds available as part of the trial. After they run out, you have to buy the game, which currently costs you €30. After the special event, which ends on January 4th, the price will increase to €60, which corresponds to the original price of the PC version.
