It is mostly iOS that has a large number of exclusive titles that are not available on other platforms. However, the game Ingress, developed directly by Google, was an exception and partly the envy of iPhone and iPad users. Google offered the game as a beta version for several years before finally releasing it as a stable version for Android last December. It's also coming to iOS today.

For those of you who are hearing the word Ingress for the first time, I will explain that the basis of the whole game is movement in the real world, with the iPhone or iPad serving as a scanner with which you can search and, above all, occupy portals. At the beginning of the game, you choose your name and have the option to choose the side you want to play for. There are two options to choose from: the side of resistance or the side of enlightenment. The trick is that a new substance has been discovered that can either strengthen humanity or totally destroy it.

The basis of the entire game is the search for various portals, which are mostly hidden in the real world near various important buildings, monuments or statues. At this time, Ingress has more than four million downloads on the Android platform, and starting today, iOS users will join the Android players. The only major drawback, confirmed by current Android gamers, is that your device will necessarily need more frequent battery charging during the day, because the connection to the real world and the so-called augmented reality will require significant sacrifices on the phones' battery life.

Ingress is completely free to download on the App Store, and as the trailer says, "It's time to expand the ranks."
