In this regular column, every day we look at the most interesting news that revolves around the California company Apple. Here we focus exclusively on the main events and selected (interesting) speculations. So if you are interested in current events and want to be informed about the apple world, definitely spend a few minutes on the following paragraphs.

There is huge interest in the iPhone 12 Pro

This month we saw the much-anticipated introduction of the new generation of Apple phones. As you all know, there are four models in three sizes, two of which boast the Pro designation. The new iPhone 12 brings with it a number of great innovations. These are mainly a better night mode for photography, a faster Apple A14 Bionic chip, support for 5G networks, durable Ceramic Shield glass, a perfect OLED display even in the cheaper model, and a redesigned design. Undoubtedly, these are great products, and according to various sources, they are so popular that even Apple itself was taken aback.

Pro iPhone 12:

A Taiwanese company from the apple supply chain commented on the whole situation through the magazine DigiTimes, according to which there is extremely strong demand for the iPhone 12 Pro model in the market. In addition, the aforementioned interest is indirectly confirmed by Apple itself, with the delivery time on its website. While the California giant guarantees delivery within 12-3 working days for the iPhone 4, you will have to wait 2-3 weeks for the Pro version. Increased demand for the Pro model is mainly in the United States of America.

The longer delivery time is allegedly due to the novelty of the Pro model, which is a LiDAR scanner. Apple has to increase its orders for VSCEL chips, which are directly responsible for the given scanner. The popularity of the iPhone 12 Pro probably surprised even the Apple company itself. According to earlier reports, Apple reportedly had more units of the cheaper iPhone 12 ready as the 6,1″ model was expected to be the most popular.

Demand for new iPhones is so high it's worsening air quality in China

We'll stay with the new iPhones for a while. Analysts from the American multinational company Morgan Stanley have recently made themselves heard, according to which there has been a deterioration of air quality in some Chinese cities. But how does it relate to the new generation of Apple phones? This year's iPhones and their very high demand could be to blame.

iPhone 12:

For their research, analysts led by Katy Huberty used air quality data from cities like Zhengzhou, which, by the way, is the main "crime scene" where iPhones are made. Data was used from non-profit platforms that measure and publish air quality data in China. The team focused on the presence of nitrogen dioxide, which, according to the European Space Agency, is the first indicator of increased industrial activity in the area, in four Chinese cities where Apple's partners have factories.

The team compared the data itself until Monday, October 26. In the aforementioned city of Zhengzhou, which is also known as iPhone City, there was a significant increase in industrial activity compared to last month, which is due to the high demand for this year's generation of phones with the bitten apple logo. In the city of Shenzhen, the first significant deterioration of air quality should have occurred already at the beginning of September. Another city under scrutiny is Chengdu. There should have been a sharp increase in the mentioned values only a few days ago, while the city of Chongqing is in a similar situation. It is paradoxical that Apple has stopped packaging the new iPhones with a charging adapter and headphones for environmental reasons, but at the same time these phones are polluting the air in Chinese cities.

Apple invites developers for one-on-one consulting before the arrival of Apple Silicon

Slowly but surely, the end of the year is approaching. This June, the Californian giant showed us a very interesting new product called Apple Silicon on the occasion of the WWDC 2020 developer conference. Apple intends to rely on its own ARM chips for its Macs and thus abandon Intel. Shortly after the mentioned event, the apple company prepared a Universal Quick Start program for developers, in which it prepared developers for the transition to the ARM architecture and also lent them a modified Mac mini equipped with an Apple A12Z chip. Now, as part of this program, Apple has started inviting developers to one-on-one consultations with Apple engineers.

Developers who participated in the aforementioned program can now also sign up for a personal "workshop," in which they will discuss various questions and problems directly with an engineer, thanks to which they will expand their knowledge and facilitate the transition to the ARM architecture. The Californian giant plans these meetings for November 4 and 5. But what does it actually mean for us? This practically indirectly confirms that the introduction of the first Apple computer with an Apple Silicon chip is practically behind the door. In addition, there has been talk of another keynote for a long time, which should take place on November 17, and during which the highly anticipated Mac with its own chip should be presented. However, which Mac will be the first to be equipped with the aforementioned chip is currently unclear. The most talked about MacBook Air, 13″ MacBook Pro, or the renewal of the 12″ MacBook.
