Police checks are currently on every corner due to government measures to prevent the spread of the coronavirus. The coronavirus pandemic has been with us for more than a year, and during that time we have gone through several different waves - sometimes the situation has worsened and at other times it has improved. Unfortunately, the whole situation was underestimated in the Czech Republic and now we have to follow very strict measures. Restrictions on movement between districts are currently among the strictest. If you want to travel out of the district in which you live, you must have a valid reason for this and fill it out form. If you want to find out where police checkpoints are currently located, you can use two ideal applications for this. The first one is a web application kontrolnibody.cz, in which you can check on a clear map of the Czech Republic where roadblocks, random checks or train checks are currently located. The best part is that you can view this information on any device – all you need is an internet connection. This tool was created thanks to Motoklub Červení Supi and serves only for informative monitoring of police checks. The developers themselves state that the application does not aim to disparage the work of the armed forces, and at the same time, it does not aim to encourage users to violate the crisis decree. In addition to the fact that you can view the checks here, you can of course also report or delete them. If you want to mentally prepare for the inspection before driving, then the kontrolnibody.cz application is absolutely ideal.

Another great app that you can use for the above purposes is Waze. Most of you probably use it - it is mainly a navigation application, but it is different from the others. As part of Waze, users form a kind of network that can inform each other about the current situation on the roads. Thanks to this, you can easily find out whether there is, for example, a traffic jam, an accident, or a police check (and many others) on your route. A possible police check can be seen on the route during planning, or Waze can warn you about it directly, a few hundred meters in advance. Just like on kontrolnibody.cz, you can also report individual police checks or other situations within the Waze application. You also collect points for correct reporting, which can motivate you in further reporting. Waze is completely free.
