Although T-Mobile and Vodafone are starting to roll out their 3G networks in major cities, O2 continues to expand its coverage and run away from the competition. According to the latest data, O2 reaches 28% of the population of the Czech Republic with 3G networks.
The 3G network is now also available to residents of Jihlava, Kladno, Rokycan, Žďár nad Sázavou and Frýdek-Místek. You can best see the current coverage of the Czech Republic on the attached image (the 3G network is purple). The 3G network is finally not just a "marginal" issue.
I'm sure that today I already got 3G even in the square in Beroun
All of Beroun should be covered by June 1
Technical: 3G/UMTS/HSDPA is covered in purple... ;) Dark blue is EDGE...
I was just sitting at the back monitor and it seemed to me like the darkest of the blue ones... but now I can see that it's purple, thanks :)
And light blue is GPRS, and I probably won't get rid of that in Náchod in my lifetime =//
Be happy for the light blue. In our chat area in Orlík, I won't even cut it with O2, unlike Vodafone or T-Mobile. But on the other hand, it also has its advantages when I can be unavailable…
I probably don't either in Nové Město nad Metují
I'm a little envious of you, O2 still doesn't have 3G here in Slovakia :(
If it will be covered in Breclav, then only then will I start thinking about O2.. then it's futile and unnecessary.. and the first to cover Breclav with 3G will win for me :)
3G is nice, but EDGE is absolutely sufficient for mobile phones. And Vodafone has wireless coverage in it. Yes, I have to use 3G occasionally in Prague, it's faster, but EDGE is enough for me to download a post outside somewhere or to surf the web on vacation. And the O2 coverage is literally tragic…
