Apple's HomePod smart speaker has been around for some time, but we haven't heard any major news about it for a relatively long time. These appeared only recently, and the HomePod should soon receive new, interesting functions, including increased Siri activity.

HomePod owners will soon be able to tune in to more than a hundred thousand live radio stations with just a command to Siri. If this news sounds familiar, you're right - Apple first announced it at WWDC in June, but the HomePod product page only revealed the feature this week, saying that the feature will be available from September 30th. Since HomePod backups are tied to the iOS operating system and iOS 30 is scheduled to be released on September 13.1, it will obviously be a feature present in this version of the operating system.

In addition, HomePod will also receive support for multiple users through voice recognition. Based on the voice profile, the smart speaker from Apple will be able to distinguish individual users from each other, and accordingly provide them with appropriate content, both in terms of playlists and perhaps also in terms of messages.

Handoff will certainly be a welcome feature. Thanks to this feature, users will be able to continue playing content from their iPhone or iPad on the HomePod as soon as they approach the speaker with their iOS device in hand – all they have to do is confirm the notification on the display. Although the launch of this function is not linked to any specific date on the HomePod product page, Apple has promised it for this fall anyway.

A completely new feature of the HomePod is the so-called "Ambient Sounds", which will allow users to easily play relaxing sounds, such as storms, sea waves, birds singing, and "white noise". Sound content of this type is also available on Apple Music, but in the case of Ambient Sounds, it will be a function directly integrated in the speaker.
