A small car in a fun package with meaningless bonuses and pleasant controls, which is worth a sin. I've always had a soft spot for toy car games. So I couldn't miss Pocket Trucks and I did well.

Pocket Trucks are, as the name suggests, pocket minicars. You will not be racing on circuits, like in Reckless Racing, but from point A to point B, similar to the game Bike Baron. And Pocket Trucks are very similar to Bike Baron. A diverse environment and many obstacles will await you on the way from the start to the finish. You will overcome various hills, explosive barrels, holes, jumps, moving platforms, sharp cones, cracking ice and much more.

To get three stars, you have to complete the route within a certain time limit. To make it not so stereotypical, in some races you will have to complete tasks. For example picking up 10 chickens along the way. In other routes, you won't be racing against time, but against one opponent that needs to be overcome. If you repeat the route and want to get more stars, the ghost from the previous ride will accompany you.

The graphics side of the game is really good. It seems a bit infantile, but that makes the cars and the environment cute. It will simply entertain you. Although you look at the route from the side like a classic platformer, everything is completely in 3D graphics. At the same time, the camera adapts to the driving in different ways and, unlike other games, it is always in the right place.

In games like Pocket Trucks, gameplay also matters to a large extent. She is almost perfect. You will race as long as you have time or until one of the levels annoys you. Beating times just for 3 stars is fun in Bike Baron and it's the same in Pocket Trucks. So why is the gameplay only "near perfect"? Missing multiplayer. It really freezes for games like this. On the other hand, various bonuses will please. There are a large number of them in the game and some of them are necessary to pass certain obstacles. You will come across jumping, flying, turbo rocket and more. After a while, you will be able to buy Nitro for your car, which is activated every time after the start, giving you a smaller lead over your rivals.

You can control Pocket Trucks using the touch buttons (one setting below, the other above), or using the accelerometer. Although you get used to the reliable and relatively accurate control relatively quickly, one thing is missing. You won't find accelerometer sensitivity in the settings. It's not that serious, but not everyone will be comfortable with the harshly determined sensitivity. At least you can always switch to button control.

There are only a few toy cars available, but you can improve and modify each of them. All this for in-game currency that you earn while playing and leveling up. If you don't have them, you can use In-App purchases to buy them as you would otherwise. The difficulty is balanced and the number of tracks is quite large. For a pleasant €0,79, you get a universal game for iPhone and iPad that will keep you entertained for hours.
