The second version of the operating system for the Apple Watch was supposed to be released last week along with iOS 9. Ultimately, however, the developers of the Californian company found a bug in the software that they didn't have time to fix, so watchOS 2 for apple watches is only now being released. It can be downloaded by all Watch owners.

This is the first major update for the watch operating system, which brings many new features. The most important one is called native third-party application support.

Until now, only Apple applications ran directly on the Watch, others were only "mirrored" from the iPhone, which mainly resulted in their slow start and operation. But now developers can finally send native applications to the App Store, which promise smoother running and greater possibilities.

Users will also see new third-party complications or custom watch faces in watchOS 2. The new feature is Time Travel, thanks to which you can look into the future and see what awaits you in the next hours.

To install watchOS 2, you need to update your iPhone to iOS 9, open the Watch app and download the update. Of course, both devices must be within Wi-Fi range, the Watch must have at least 50% battery charge and be connected to a charger.

Apple writes about watchOS 2:

  • New watch faces and timekeeping functions.
