Beauty in simplicity. The entire review of this application could be summed up with this slogan. PlainText is a very simple text editor for iOS that, instead of a bunch of features, focuses primarily on the most important thing – writing itself.

The whole philosophy lies in what you actually expect from such a text editor on an iPhone or iPad. As a rule, a person edits what he writes on the computer anyway. The phone does not provide him with nearly as much comfort as a full-fledged Word or Pages. Then only two things are important for you - writing the text and the way you transfer it to the computer. PlainText takes care of both of these aspects to perfection thanks to two auxiliary forces.

She is the first one dropbox. If you're not familiar with Dropbox, it's a service that allows you to sync items across multiple devices through web storage. Anything you upload to Dropbox will appear on all computers where you have it installed. PlainText synchronizes your written texts with Dropbox on an ongoing basis, so whenever you stop writing, you can be sure that everything will be found immediately on your computer in the appropriate folder in TXT format. This eliminates inconvenient synchronization via WiFi or USB.

The second helper is integration TextExpander. TextExpander is a separate application where you can choose individual abbreviations for given words or phrases, after writing them the selected text will be filled in automatically. This can save you a lot of typing of everything you type repeatedly. Thanks to the integration of TextExpander, these applications are connected, so you can use word completion in PlainText as well.

The graphic interface itself is elegantly minimalistic. On the initial screen, you see files and folders into which you can sort your texts. At the bottom there are only three buttons for creating a folder, a document and finally settings. In the writing window, most of the space is occupied by the text field, only in the upper part you will see the name of the document and the arrow for going back. Purposeful simplicity is the philosophy of PlainText.

You will certainly find many applications in the App Store that offer more text formatting options or can work with formats such as RTF or DOC. But PlainText stands on the opposite side of the barricade. Instead of a bunch of functions, it offers the simplest way to write text, which you can then work with any text editor on your computer. The main advantage is above all the connection with the increasingly popular Dropbox, thanks to which you have your texts available anytime and anywhere.

For your interest - this entire review, or its text part was written in PlainText using a Bluetooth keyboard. And the best in the end. You can find the application in the App Store completely free of charge.
