Pixelmator Pro is familiar to Mac users who use it to edit their photos. Now this tool comes in the form of the Pixelmator Photo app to the iPad as well, bringing new features in the form of machine learning-based features to speed up the image editing process.

iPad owners will get the key features known from its macOS version in the iOS version of Pixelmator Pro. Some of them include fast tools for removing unwanted objects from photos, the ability to work with files in RAW format or the ability to adjust curves.

Thanks to machine learning, users can look forward to better and largely automated cropping options, where the application will offer users the best possible editing options. Of course, adjustments cannot be made without user intervention, but automation will greatly speed up and facilitate work with the application. However, the iOS version lacks the ability to share an image directly from the native Photos application – adding a picture is possible by launching the application and selecting import from Photos in its interface. Pixelmator Photo still lacks an extension with which it would be possible to transfer the image to the application using the sharing function.

Users who want to try Pixelmator's features on their iPhone will have to reach for 2014 version, but using it on the iPad is undoubtedly more convenient. This year is looking forward to better times for graphics-savvy iPad owners. In addition to Pixelmator Photo, the full version of Photoshop for iPad will also be available. Until now, Adobe has offered it in the truncated variants Mix, Express or Fix.

While Photoshop for iPad will be part of Adobe's Creative Cloud platform on a subscription basis, Pixelmator Photo can be purchased for a one-time price of 129 crowns.
