The popular image editing tool Pixelmator has received a very important update. The iOS version received an update yesterday, labeled 2.4 and codenamed Cobalt. This update brings full support for iOS 11, which means, among other things, that the application can now work with the HEIF photo format (which was just introduced with iOS 11) and also supports Drag and Drop functions from iPads.

With Drag and Drop support, it's now even more efficient to add new media files to your composition you're working on in Pixelmator. Files can be moved both individually and in groups, even when using the Split-View function. Here it is necessary to take into account that these functions may not be available on all iPads that have iOS 11.

A more fundamental innovation is the support for images in the HEIF format. Pixelmator is thus among other editing software that has this support. Users will thus be able to easily edit photos they take with their iPhone or iPad without having to deal with compatibility issues or change settings from HEIF to JPEG.

In addition to these innovations, the developers fixed a number of bugs and unfinished business. You can read the complete changelog from yesterday's update here. The Pixelmator application is available in the App Store for 149 crowns for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. The update to the iOS version follows the update to the macOS version that arrived a few weeks ago and introduced HEIF support as well.
