The interest in Apple Pay on the part of Czech apple sellers is enormous, which is mainly proven by the fact that they can use the service in just a week activated by over 150 thousand users. However, paying with an iPhone is not limited to contactless terminals, as you can pay for purchases in applications as well. And the first to introduce this possibility is Pilulka.cz

Pilulka thus becomes the first purely Czech application in which you can pay using Apple Pay. The new payment method was implemented in the application thanks to the cooperation with PayU. Apple Pay support in the application is clearly beneficial for customers - iPhone and iPad owners make a quarter of all purchases in Pilulka.

"Pilulka.cz is a leader in the digitization of the pharmacy industry. We are trying to innovate and technologically advance this traditionally conservative segment. We were the first in the industry to launch a mobile app, the only one with our own development team for iOS and Android. Today, over 50 percent of customers come to our e-shop from a mobile phone," says Michal Hanáček, director of Pilulka.cz.

Thanks to PayU, the website postovnezdarma.cz also offered Apple Pay, which became the first domestic e-shop in which it is possible to pay using Touch ID on a MacBook. With the help of PayU, more Czech sellers could soon offer the service.

Shortly after the arrival of Apple Pay in the Czech Republic they promised T-Mobile and Alza.cz also support their applications. The largest Czech retailer plans to offer the service directly on its website at a later date, but a specific date has not yet been announced.

In addition to Pilulka, it is possible to pay via Apple Pay in a number of other applications that already have experience with the service from abroad. Among them are the new Wolt and Flixbus, as well as Booking, ASOS, Adidas, Ryanair, HotelTonight, Fancy, GetYourGuide, Vueling Airlines, WorldRemit, Farfetch and TL EU.
