Beats has introduced the new Pill+ Bluetooth speaker, which is their first wireless innovation since last year's acquisition by Apple. It should go on sale next month, offering a stylish design and up to twelve hours of battery life.

The Pill+ is a replacement for the existing Pill speaker. The novelty has undergone a minor transformation, so it is slightly larger than its predecessor, but at the same time it remains smaller than the Pill XL variant, which is no longer sold.

The control buttons have moved up from the back and the curved speakers remain on the sides. You can see Apple's influence on the back, as the speaker is charged via the Lightning connector. But there is also a 3,5mm audio connector and USB, through which the Pill+ can charge other devices.

In the new speaker, however, Beats continues to bet on the traditional wireless connection via Bluetooth, thanks to which virtually any device can connect to the Pill+. AirPlay for Apple products is still missing.

Along with the speaker itself, users also get the new Beats Pill+ app, which makes it easy to control music. On the one hand, it is possible to connect two Pill+ speakers for stereo output, or combine music from two iPhones.

According to The Verge, where you already have Beats Pill+ ahead of time they touched, it is "the most attractive and best-sounding speaker Beats has ever created". According to Sean O'Kane, the music is understandably much more important than the looks and the construction, and during his short listen to different genres (songs by The Weeknd, Kendrick Lamar, Tom Petty or the punk rock group PUP), he was excited.

“Judging from my short experience with the Pill+, this is the best sounding Pill ever. All this is apparently thanks to the so-called two-way active system, which means that the amplifiers are built into the speakers," explains O'Kane, which he says results in a better presentation of the music.

From November, Beats Pill+ will be sold in black or white for $229,95, roughly 5 crowns, but we can expect the price in the Czech Republic to be higher, probably over six thousand crowns.
