Adobe announced Monday that it has begun accepting applications for inclusion in the beta program for its upcoming Photoshop CC app for iPad. The long-awaited version of Photoshop for tablets from Apple should be released later this year. Creative Cloud customers have already started receiving emails offering to join the beta program. Interested parties must forms in Google Forms fill in their name, email address and an explanation of why they are interested in beta testing.

Photoshop in the iPad version was first presented in October 2018 at the MAX conference, Apple also talked about the application during the presentation of its iPad Pro last year. The application promises an experience that is in no way comparable to the desktop version of Photoshop. According to its creators, Photoshop CC for iPad should not resemble a stripped-down, lightweight mobile version of the popular professional photo editing program.

Adobe decided to redesign the app's user interface to make the most of the iPad environment. It goes without saying that control via the touch screen is supported, as well as Apple Pencil support. On the panel with popular tools on the left side there is a brush, eraser, crop, text and others, on the right side there is a panel with tools for working with layers. Control is, of course, touch, with a context menu for individual items.

Like the desktop version, Photoshop CC for iPad will support PSD formats, layers, masks and other familiar features. Adobe will also allow users to automatically synchronize both versions for better opportunities to work on projects on both platforms.
