Technical development is moving forward unstoppably and our households are also changing significantly. Many elements that previously belonged only to the science fiction genre are slowly becoming reality. Thanks to progress, our lives are becoming easier and more interesting for tech enthusiasts. Writers of science fiction books and movies in the past have often dealt with households that are fully controlled by a computer. This vision is gradually becoming a reality. However, the platform for controlling the running of the household has not become a regular desktop or artificial intelligence. Tablets and smartphones are taking over the role of the desktop computer. Of course, this trend also manifests itself in the field of smart homes.

In our homes, many everyday items can already be controlled remotely or from the comfort of the couch. You can use your smartphone to lock and unlock the door, set the thermostat or turn on the washing machine. However, the hot news is the new lighting system of LED bulbs Philips Hue, which can be fully controlled using any iOS or Android device.

This effect is achieved using a special application and Wi-Fi connection. These are special light bulbs that can shine with ordinary "white" light, but also with an abundance of different other colors. In the application, individual light bulbs can be switched on and off as desired throughout the house and the color, shades and intensity of the light can be changed. You can set the color of the light according to any pattern in your home and bring the interior of your home to absolute perfection. The application allows you to take a color sample from anything in your home in order to create your own lighting environment. Turning the lights on and off can also be set using a timer. Therefore, the light in the children's room can be automatically and irrevocably turned off at the time of dinner. The same light can then be turned on again with the same rigor and precision along with the ringing of the morning alarm.

Philips hue will go on sale on October 30 or 31 and will be available exclusively at Apple Store counters. The bulbs (50 W) will be offered in packs of three for $199. The entire system can contain up to fifty bulbs. According to the manufacturer, LED bulbs from the Philips hue set have 80% lower energy consumption than conventional bulbs.

A few similar lighting systems have already appeared in the past, and the famous company Bang & Olufsen also offers its own solution. However, the solutions of this well-known brand are not among the most affordable. The LIFX company also wanted to make a name for itself with a project that is very similar to the new product from Philips. This company tried their luck with their own lighting system in a Kickstarter project. Engineers from LIFX have already raised $1,3 million for the implementation of their project, so Philips hue can rightly be considered a big blow to the belt. The solution from this company will reach store shelves in March of next year at the earliest.
