The Beijing police closed a large factory in which more than 41 fake iPhones worth 000 million Chinese yuan, which is converted to more than 120 million Czech crowns, were to be created. At the same time, some of the fakes were supposed to go to the United States. So far, 470 suspects have been arrested, whom the Chinese police blame for planning the entire plagiarism operation.

Apple is one of the most popular brands ever in China, and counterfeits of its most popular product are not uncommon, despite the fact that the Chinese government has been trying to combat the stereotypical view of China as a country of plagiarists for a long time. The authorities are trying to more rigorously enforce intellectual property, forcing companies to apply for trademarks and patents, and are also focusing on the fight against the illegal production of counterfeit goods of well-known brands.

According to available information, the group that was arrested this time in Beijing was led by a 43-year-old man and his three-year-younger wife, both from the million-dollar industrial city of Shenzhen in southern China. The couple reportedly established their factory in January. "Hundreds" of workers were hired to pack used smartphone parts for export. Six production lines went into operation.

Beijing reported that the investigation was launched after China was informed by US authorities that some of the counterfeits had been seized on its territory.
