Adam Kos Apple introduced the iPhone 13 (Pro) range of phones, where its design is almost identical to the iPhone 12 (Pro). Last year, the company retreated from round frames and introduced a more angular design, more similar to the iPhone 4 generation, and which differed considerably from the iPhone 11 models. And although it may not look like it at first glance, this year is also different.
If you look at the physical dimensions of the iPhone 13, its parameters are 146,7 mm in height, 71,5 mm in width and 7,65 mm in depth. The previous generation iPhone 12 is identical in height and width, only 0,25 mm thinner. But the cover might not mind - if this was the only change made. Apple has redesigned the camera system, which is now larger and located closer to the top corner. But it doesn't end there either. The iPhone 13 also has volume buttons located below, for switching to silent mode. So the result is obvious, and iPhone 12 covers will not fit iPhone 13.

While the size of the iPhone 13's camera system is somewhat debatable, it's evident in the Pro models. This professional camera system has grown enormously, which is why it is clear at first glance that covers and cases from the previous twelfth generation simply will not fit the new one. Again, it is necessary to add a decent increase of 0,25 mm in the depth of the device, but also here the buttons have been moved.

In addition, if you look at the company's original covers in the Apple Online Store, you will see that it offers a unique solution for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, or only lists a specific model for their compatibility. So, like it or not, you're going to have to buy new cases for the iPhone 13 (Pro). The existing ones or the ones for iPhone 12 (Pro) will not fit you.

For the entire iPhone 13 model line, Apple reduced the cutout for the camera system and its sensors by 20%. For that reason, a different shape is present here. Even if no other physical change took place on the display, be careful if you want to equip the new generation with protective glass. Many of the products intended for the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro have a cut-out, which is also made in black - to better match the design of the iPhone. In this case, you will needlessly cover part of the display, but above all, neither the camera nor the sensors present may work correctly.
