It's been over a year since iOS 3.0 introduced the new cut, copy & paste function. It made life easier for users in many ways, and its potential was also noticed by the guys from Tapbots, the authors of the popular Convertbot. The latest application from their workshop is called Pastebot and it gives the clipboard a whole new dimension.

The problem with the clipboard is that you can only store one thing at a time, whether it's text, an email address, or an image. If you copy more, the previous data will be overwritten. That's why Pastebot has just been created, which allows you to automatically save things copied to the clipboard and then manipulate them further. You will get an essentially infinite clipboard.

As soon as you start the application, the content of the clipboard will be inserted into an individual field. You can mark them by tapping and the content of the selected field will be copied to your clipboard again, so you can continue working with it outside the application.

In addition to copying to the clipboard, the saved data can be further edited. As soon as you click on it, a bottom bar with several buttons and information about the number of characters, or image size. Using the first button, you can duplicate the given field or move it to a folder. Yes, Pastebot can also organize the contents of the clipboard into folders, which leads to better clarity with a large number of saved fields. The second button is used for editing.

We have a lot of options here, you can change the lower/upper case of the text, work with hypertext, search and replace or convert to a quote. It goes without saying that you can also edit your own text. You can then manipulate the colors in the image in different ways, for example making the image black and white. With the last button, you can send the given item by e-mail, you can save the image in a photo album and search for the text again on Google.

The application recently underwent an update, which brought important multitasking, which made working with the application even easier, and at the same time an update for the retina display. It looks really cool on the iPhone 4 screen. After all, the entire graphical environment of the application is beautiful, as is usual with Tapbots and as you can see in the pictures. Movement in it is accompanied by "mechanical" sounds (can be turned off) and nice animations, which, however, do not slow down the work in any way.

Mac owners will also appreciate the desktop application for easy synchronization. Unfortunately, Windows owners are out of luck.

Pastebot is a very handy assistant for working with the clipboard and can thus very easily become your invaluable ally in productivity. You can find it in the App Store for €2,99.
