The arrival of the global pandemic literally changed the functioning of our world and affected even a giant like Apple. Everything started already in 2020, and Apple's first remarks took place already in June, when the traditional developer conference WWDC 2020 was supposed to take place. And it was here that practically the whole world ran into a problem. Due to the effort to minimize the spread of the virus, social contact was significantly reduced, various lockdowns were introduced and no large events were held - such as the traditional presentation from Apple.

The aforementioned conference therefore took place virtually, and Apple fans could watch it via Apple's official website, YouTube or the Apple TV application. And as it turned out in the end, this method clearly has something in it and can work much better for ordinary viewers. Since the video was pre-prepared, Apple had the opportunity to edit it well and give it a proper dynamic. As a result, the Apple-eater was probably not bored for a moment, at least not from our perspective. After all, all other conferences were conducted in this spirit - and above all virtually.

Virtual or traditional conference?

In short, we can say that since WWDC 2020 we haven't had any traditional conference to which Apple would invite journalists and reveal all the news directly in front of them in the hall, as was the custom before. After all, even the father of Apple, Steve Jobs, excelled in this, who could brilliantly present practically any new product on stage. So the logical question is – will Apple ever go back to the traditional way, or will it continue in the virtual realm? Unfortunately, this is not an entirely simple question, and the answer may not yet be known even in Cupertino.

Both approaches have their benefits, although we may not be able to see them completely from a small country behind a large puddle. When the conference is conducted in a traditional way, a great example is WWDC, and you participate in it yourself, according to the statements of the participants themselves, it is an unforgettable experience. WWDC is not just a momentary presentation of new products, but a weekly conference packed with an interesting program focused on developers, which are directly attended by people from Apple.

Apple WWDC 2020

On the other hand, here we have a newer approach, where the entire keynote is prepared ahead of time and then released to the world. For fans of the Cupertino company, it is something like a smaller film that they enjoy from start to finish. As already mentioned above, in such a case, Apple gets a huge advantage, when it can prepare everything with a calm soul and prepare it in the best possible form, in which it will look its best. Which is also happening. These events are now brisk, have the necessary dynamics and can playfully keep the viewer's attention. In the case of a traditional conference, you cannot count on something like that, and on the contrary, it is quite difficult to deal with various obstacles.

A combination of both methods

So what direction should Apple take? Will it be better if he returns to the traditional way after the end of the pandemic, or will he continue with the more modern one, which, after all, fits a technology company like Apple a little better? Some apple growers have a clear opinion on this. According to them, it would be best if the news were presented so-called virtually, while the developer conference WWDC will be held in the traditional spirit directly in America. On the other hand, in that case, those interested have to deal with travel and accommodation in order to be able to participate at all.

It can be summed up quite simply by saying that there is no right answer. In short, it's impossible to please everyone, and now it's up to the experts in Cupertino to decide which way they want to go. Which side would you rather take?
