Speakers Sonos is clearly one of the best solutions, regarding wireless multiroom systems. However, where Sonos has been lacking so far has been the official app. Now finally comes the ability to control all speakers directly through the Spotify app, which fundamentally improves the user experience.

Sonos announced its intention back in August, when she opened new feature in beta. Now with latest update (7.0) its mobile application offers the possibility of directly connecting Sonos speakers to the Spotify application to everyone.

The integration works within Spotify Connect, which makes it possible to easily send music to different devices, whether we are talking about communication via AirPlay or Bluetooth and all iPhones, iPads, computers or wireless speakers. Until now, however, it was not possible to find Sonos speakers in Spotify Connect.

It was possible to add the Swedish streaming service to the Sonos app, but then you had to navigate within its interface, in which you could not fully use all Spotify functions and, moreover, the control was not nearly as convenient. That's changing now, and once you update the Sonos app and link it to Spotify, Sonos speakers will also appear in Spotify Connect.

Importantly, it is no longer a problem to control the whole multiroom system, where you can play a different song in each speaker, as well as you can set all speakers to play the same rhythm. You only need to (automatically) transfer to the Sonos app to connect two or more speakers, the rest can already be controlled from Spotify.

You need to subscribe to Spotify Premium for the connection to work. Apple Music users can still control Sonos speakers only through a dedicated application, where the Apple music service can also be connected. Greater integration into iOS is not expected from Sonos for now.
